A CPD accredited half-day event that supports delegates to understand trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and toxic stress and its impact on individuals.

About the training

The training will explore trauma theory and how the Acceptance of a trauma model offers the potential for recovery.

It enables delegates to understand that by exploring the Behaviours that result from trauma it is possible to understand that it is ‘what happened’ to the child or young person that resulted in coping strategies that can be destructive to the individual, family and society.

By being Curious as individuals we can facilitate a collaborative culture to promote healing and autonomy

“Rock Pool delivered high quality training to our multi-agency workforce in Harpurhey. The expertise, knowledge and work/life experiences of the trainers enabled them to deliver key messages about ACEs and trauma informed approaches in an empathetic, sensitive manner. Our evaluation found that delegates knowledge of ACEs, and how to consider them in practice improved significantly. The application of the learning is enabling practitioners to make a difference to individuals, families and the community. Whether it is a housing association working to prevent hoarding, schools changing their policy to prevent exclusions or health visitors having strength based conversations with families Rock Pool and Manchester City Council are helping residents live better lives.”

Gareth Nixon, ACEs Project Manager, Manchester City Council

“The ACE Training in Harpurhey was inspirational – this approach has the ability to really change outcomes for people. The session really brought to life how using a trauma informed approach is possible for everybody.”
