Join Rock Pool founder Sue Penna for this free one-hour introductory webinar exploring Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how trauma in childhood can shape emotional wellbeing, behaviour and health into adulthood.

Research into ACEs has transformed our understanding of how early adversity affects development. Experiences such as abuse, neglect, household dysfunction and other forms of childhood stress can influence brain development, coping strategies, relationships and long-term health outcomes.

In this introductory session, Sue will provide an accessible overview of the key concepts behind ACEs and developmental trauma, helping practitioners begin to recognise how trauma may show up in the people they support.

Drawing on research and trauma-informed practice, the webinar will introduce:

  • What ACEs are and why they matter
  • How childhood trauma can affect development, behaviour and emotional regulation
  • The ways trauma responses may appear in children, young people and adults
  • The links between early adversity, resilience and later life outcomes
  • Why trauma-informed practice is essential when supporting individuals affected by trauma

This session is ideal for frontline practitioners, educators, health professionals, safeguarding teams and anyone looking for a clear introduction to the long-term effects of childhood trauma.

Looking for a more in-depth exploration? Our enhanced ACEs webinar builds on this introduction and explores developmental trauma, long-term impact and trauma-informed practice in greater depth.

This session is ideal for frontline practitioners, educators, health professionals, safeguarding teams and anyone interested in understanding the long-term effects of childhood trauma.

Please note: This webinar is not formal training. It is designed to provide insight, reflection and discussion for professionals who are new to the topic or interested in learning more.
