About the training

The training will explore trauma theory and how the Acceptance of a trauma model offers the potential for recovery. By exploring the Behaviours that result from trauma it is possible to understand that it is ‘what happened’ to child / young person that resulted in coping strategies that can be destructive to the individual, family and society.

We believe that by being Curious as individuals we can facilitate a collaborative culture to promote healing and autonomy. We introduce simple activities to promote curiosity with those we support.

Who should attend

Social workers, family support workers, neighbourhood teams, early help workers, youth offending teams, foster carers, housing sector workers, voluntary sector workers, school support staff, teachers,  youth workers, health practitioners, police, police support staff, and other front-line care professionals.

About the ABC of Trauma – Children and Young People

The ABC of Trauma – Children and Young People training day will provide delegates with the confidence to understand the pathology, impact and approaches used when working with children and young people who have, and maybe still are, experiencing trauma.

The course is designed to provide a thorough theoretical underpinning before giving delegates practical tools that can be used to build on in their practice.

We deliver our training using a trauma informed model, and so safety, opportunity for collaborative learning, strengths based and skill building are all built into the design of the training.

There will be opportunity throughout the training to link evidence to practice and look at how delegates may develop protective factors with clients to promote resilience, mitigate further ACEs and aim for recovery.

This one day training course is for up to 25 delegates and is delivered direct to your organisation.
